The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck is tough, capable, and versatile. For the 2023 model year, the Duramax diesel powertrain gains some extra horsepower, but the features and lineup remain the same. Take a look at some of the features and equipment you can get with the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Work Truck (WT) starts the lineup with 17-inch wheels and keyless entry. A step up to the Custom adds 20-inch wheels, power windows, power-adjustable and heated side exterior mirrors, and the trailering package. The Custom Trail Boss has underbody skid plates, the Z71 off-road suspension package, and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. Another bump to the LT adds chrome exterior trim and 17-inch alloy wheels, while the RST has LED fog lights and it adds LED taillights. The LT Trail Boss adds to this with LED headlights, and the ZR2 has 33-inch all-terrain tires. At the top of the lineup, the LTZ has 20-inch wheels and a power tailgate, and the High Country comes with running boards and a spray-in bedliner.
Engine (Power)
Power for the Silverado 1500 starts with a 2.7-liter turbo four-cylinder. It generates 310 horsepower and works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 5.3-liter V-8 with 355 horsepower is your next step up in power, or you can get the 6.2-liter V-8 that puts out 420 horsepower. The available 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel now develops 305 horsepower. All but the entry-level powertrain work with Chevy's 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The 6.2-liter is the quickest powertrain, and this engine also has the most power. It can pull up to 13,300 pounds. If you have the 5.3-liter, it can still tow up to 11,500 pounds, and the four-cylinder engine is capable of towing 9,500 pounds. The benefit of this truck is its easy handling. It feels smaller than it is when you're behind the wheel.
Interior
The Silverado's larger cabs have room for up to six people. The WT has just the basics in the cabin, but the higher trims offer features such as leather upholstery, heated front seats, a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated rear seats. The LT has a 13.4-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster in front of the driver. Wireless charging comes with the LTZ and High Country, and these also have a premium Bose stereo. The High Country also adds navigation.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has several advanced driver aids. Even the WT has forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, low-speed automatic braking, and a following distance indicator. Every trim also has automatic high-beam headlights and the Teen Driver system. Additional safety systems that Chevy makes available or standard depending on the trim include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors. The LTZ has the Advanced Trailering System with trailer monitoring features and a surround-view camera system. The available Safety Package adds a trailer blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic monitoring with automatic braking.
