Choose between three engines that can go under the hood of the Silverado 1500. The 5.3-liter engine, an EcoTec3 V8, is standard on the LTZ and High Country trims, and it’s available on the LT Trail Boss, RST, LT, Custom Trail Boss, and WT trims. It boasts 350 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. That’s plenty of power for regular driving, heading off on the trails, and doing some towing.
The other gas engine is a 6.2-liter EcoTec3 V8 producing 460 lb-ft of torque and 420 hp. It’s standard on the ZR2 and available on several other trims. Finally, the strongest engine of all is the Duramax 3-liter turbodiesel engine that’s available on many of the Silverado’s trims. It boasts a whopping 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. It has a max two-wheel drive towing capacity of 13,300 pounds, making it the engine to pick if you need the best one for towing.
Commanding Cabin
You’ll feel very in demand while you’re in the cabin, as there’s a ton of high-tech equipment right at your fingertips. A 13.4-inch infotainment screen provides fantastic visibility for the driver and front-seat passenger. It’s easy to connect up your smart devices and access apps through the screen, including helpful apps such as Google Maps. You’ll enjoy using music streaming apps through the screen, too, thanks to the truck’s premium audio system.
Meanwhile, the driver has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that’s also very easy to see and is incredibly useful. It lets you keep an eye on your speed, your fuel levels, a summary of your journey as a whole, and more.
Terrific Truck Bed
If you’ll frequently be filling up your truck bed with cargo, then there’s no better truck for you than the Silverado 1500. It boasts a maximum payload capacity of 2,260 pounds, and you have a best-in-class of 89.1 cubic feet of space to fill. You can equip your truck with a power up/down tailgate, and there are 12 tie-downs to help you keep your load secure. Finally, Chevy’s phenomenal multi-flex tailgate is available on all trims.
Sensational Super Cruise
Those of you opting for the High Country trim get to use an advanced feature called Super Cruise. This is a driver assistance technology that lets you spend some time driving hands-free. The feature can be used on over 200,000 miles of highways in the US and Canada.
